Good design for all

Edouard Chambellan is a French industrial designer based in the Capital District of New York. He has been involved in the design of large yachts, global retail roll-outs, health devices, consumer products, furniture collections, private planes, hotels, homes, bath hardware and lighting collections.

With over 15 years of experience, Mr. Chambellan's work won over 30 international design awards and has been featured on major media outlets.

Bio

French industrial design entrepreneur Edouard Chambellan is Staff Industrial Designer at ŌURA.

Son of a nurse turned actress and a chiropractor, grand-son of a multi-generational family of carpenters, hardware store owners and farmers, Mr. Chambellan devotes his life to creating elegant solutions generating enduring value. 

Head-hunted by Philippe Starck right after graduation from his Master's degree, he spent the first decade of his career leading the design of  motoryacht Venus, 256 ft, then led the design of Sailing Yacht A, 468 ft, world largest sail-assisted motor yacht, together with its four custom tenders. During this time, Mr. Chambellan greatly enjoyed closely partnering with owners, their representatives, family offices, shipyard and outfitting teams. In 2017, he decided to bring his expertise to the United States, personally designing with industry leaders including founders of Airbnb, Fuseproject, Mighty Buildings, Deskreet and Samara.

He has applied his methodology collaborating with technology startups, family offices, French luxury companies, independent design studios, Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations. 

Mr. Chambellan is a member of the International Puzzle Party, a group of collectors, inventors and makers of intriguing mechanical puzzles. 

He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Design Management from ISD, France.
